Lovey Update

Lovey is still missing. Jack didn't ask for him once today???? Reward still offered.

Snow Day

It snowed today!! I can't believe how excited I still get when I see the snow... there is something magical about it. We went out and Jack LOVED it!! We made a mini snowman and had a snowball fight, and stomped on many, many snowballs. There was actually another boy and his father playing outside and Jack kept giving the snowballs I would make to the other boy to throw at his dad. He thought it was so funny :o) He insisted on sliding down the snow covered slide... and that cut our snow play short. I should have brought his snow suit!!! I think every picture I have taken of Luke lately has been of him in his carseat.
Jack and his snowman... yes, that is the snowman's PT Cruiser. He drove it all the way from the North Pole :o)

Hmmmm..... the snowman wasn't so lucky today.

Jack squeezing his snow. He kept saying "snow" all day today!

Lovey Missing! Huge Reward If Found!

I can't believe I'm even writing these words.... we lost our dear, sweet Lovey today. We had him on our stroll to the commissary, and we had him when we got back (I think). I know I checked to make sure Jack was still holding on to him as we walked back.... but that's the last time I remember seeing him. I didn't realize he was gone until dinner. Jack had a minor Jack-attack when I wouldn't give him his "sauce" (applesauce) until he ate his peas and chicken. He kept asking for his "wuv." I didn't really start looking for him until I was ready to put Jack to bed. Oh my! I thought it was going to be bad. I got this nervous feeling in my stomach... like I was about to have to tell him his pet died or something. I put him in his pack-n-play and read him some books, hoping he wouldn't notice who was missing. I even let him take his "choo-choo" to bed in hopes of distracting him...of course I'll get it out when he's asleep. He isn't crying right now, so maybe we'll be okay tonight. He is pretty tired. We went over to the indoor playplace at the other base and he had a grand time. We'll have to retrace our steps tomorrow.... hmmmm..... will he understand if I tell him Lovey got too cold and flew to the tropics?

Park Fun and More

Finally.... I got the camera out and the weather was cooperative this morning and we ended up with some great pictures at the park. This is the play area outside of our hotel room and it's awesome! Jack has such a blast throwing his ball down the slide and then chasing after it (face first, of course). This first pic didn't turn out as clear as I'd hoped... but you can definitely see the pretty blue sky! This has been the prettiest day since we've been here. Michael is still working so hard- we're still hoping to be back in time to make it to Tuscany for Thanksgiving.

Here is a pic from the other night. Luke was just hanging out in his cute jammies that his cool Aunt Christy gave him.
Here is Jack's big boo-boo. This was the evening that it happened... it really hasn't seemed to bother him at all since the morning of the accident.

London calling....

Okay, I know we are not in London... but I couldn't think of anything else to title the post... and I thought it was funny :o)

We have been having a BLAST here in jolly ole' England. Michael has been working LIKE A MAD MAN getting ready for his case (which started today and HOPEFULLY will be done by next Tues, as we leave for Tuscany on Thurs!!). Jack's injury hasn't slowed him down one bit and we've been exploring the base, watching planes, chasing balls... and each other, sliding down slides, and taking our train everywhere! Yes, Jack's new obsession is Thomas the train. Cars and puzzles... a thing of the past (or at least until we get back home :o) There is a great indoor playground for the toddler kiddos at the other base (about 15 min. from where we are). It's great... they have WiFi and Starbucks!! This morning we made our first adventure alone with mommy driving on the wrong side of the road......... and allow me to toot my own horn.... because I didn't get honked at once!!! A few times I scared myself, but apparantly the other drivers in the UK are just as bad because they didn't seem to notice :o)

After Jack wakes up from his nap, we'll change his nappy and then head out for a bit of a stroll :o) I LOVE IT HERE!

BIG Boo-Boo

On Saturday we had our first trip to the ER for a BIG boo-boo for Jack. We were outside playing at the playground and decided to come in to get something to eat. As I was pulling the stroller through the door (he was standing beside me) his left ring finger got stuck as the door began to close. It looked awful.... and I'm not just saying that because my stomach turns at the sight of blood, or because I'm his mommy.... it really was bad. If you can imagine, the tip looked flat with a big bulb on top. We rushed him to the ER and they gave him some Motrin (the trusted Airforce cure-all) and did x-rays. He was such a champ! He cried a lot, and then fell asleep on Michael's shoulder. They put his litttle finger in a splint and set us up with a follow-up with an orthopedic on Mon. On Mon. the doc confirmed what the ER doc thought... he has a fracture at the tip of his left ring finger. He taped it up and sent us on our way. He said it will take about four weeks to heal. Jack doesn't act like it bothers him one bit. He has been jumping and running and he's back to his old self (thank goodness!).

Tell the Queen we've arrived!

Well, we made it to England. It was a long day... 5 hour drive to the coast, a 2 hour ferry ride, and another 3 hour drive to the base. Jack and Luke both did great.... thank you to whoever invented DVD players and put them in cars! I forgot our USB cord and cannot get our pics off of the camera so there won't be any for a couple of weeks. Oh... well, just realized our new laptop has an SD slot... so we'll try and see.

Jack really enjoyed the ferry... and he made us a little nervous as we walked around the White Cliffs of Dover. Our hotel room has a great location... right across from the commissary and BX and there is a playground right outside! Well, gotta run for now... the little man is waking up from his nap :o)

Rolly Polly

Somehow I put these pics on in reverse order... so start viewing from the bottom up.

Step Four: Ahhhh... finally! He rolled over about 5 times today. It is making it hard to change his diaper now because he starts trying to roll over when you lay him down.
Step Three: This is harder than it looks... need to take a break and try again.
Step Two: Keep trying -It is helpful to move arm... but hard to move when you are laying on it!
Step One: Roll onto side.... note it is helpful to move arm.
Our little Luke decided today was the day he was going to make his big first move toward Jack's basket of trucks. Jack didn't roll over until a day before he was four months old... hmmmm....could we have an over achiever on our hands?

What? No pictures?

I can't believe it... but I didn't take a single picture of my boys today! Sorry Michael... today just went by so fast :o) Jack said "actoh" about 5000 times today- "tractor" for those of you not up to speed on "Jack-talk." We read our "Froggy" book about 1000 times :o) I thought I had tricked him... we were reading books on his bed before bedtime and Jack decided that he needed his "actoh." He went to fetch it and I quickly hid the book. I know, that sounds terrible... but you can only read one book SO MANY times before you go crazy!!! He came back in with his tractor and immediately started searching for the book. He kept saying "fwog" and I felt so guilty... he wouldn't quit looking for it so in hopes of avoiding a major Jack-attack we read about froggy and his bike...and the horn and the bell on froggy's bike... 5 more times :o) Gotta love that the kid loves his books!

Another fun day

The weather was beautiful for another day in Zemmer! I keep thinking the good weather is gone for good... then we get another beautiful day like today. This morning we got Jack's hair cut. Then we took our trucks and tractors for a spin in the puddles outside. After that, the trucks (and Jack) needed a bath... so off to the tub we went. One day he'll be mad at me for putting the bad hair day shot on the internet... but it's so funny, I couldn't resist. Luke just spent the day staring at us :o)

Just Hanging Out..

Today was nasty and so we weren't able to do much outside. Jack had some fun jumping around with his friend, Liam. Hopefully we'll have better weather tomorrow and can get outside. Jack loves to climb in his big toy basket behind the sofa.
Jack's finger-painted masterpiece.

In the jump-o-line with Liam.

Eating lunch... he's showing me his "cheesy face!"

Cute little man, Luke is just smiling away these days.

Our Little Luke-man

He really is just the best baby- ever! He is so easy-going and is smiling and talking all of the time now. He has just discovered his hands!

Crayons, Dirt and Fingerpaint....OH MY!

I put together Jack's new easel while he was napping today. He had such a huge smile on his face when he saw it. He kept looking up at me, back at the easel, and up at me again with the biggest smile... and if he could say the words I'm sure he would have been saying, "Is this mine???" It was the most adorable thing!
The weather has been awesome the last two days... NO RAIN and SUNNY SKIES!!! We have been taking advantage of it and spent most of the last two days outside. Do you see the pile of dirt? Jack was ignoring me when I kept telling him that he had thrown enough dirt out of the pot.

Yes, Jack... I'm still telling you to stop... and taking pictures at the same time.

Man this kid's hair grows fast! Time for another haircut!

Fingerpainting! Oh what fun! He was super excited and we both had a great time! Thank goodness for washable paint! The table didn't look so hot when we were finished :o)
