KidsIn Fun!

Today we went to KidsIn. It's an indoor playpark in Trier, about 30 minutes from our house. The Breakfield's went with us and the kids all had a blast. There was so much to do: jumping castles, trampolines, slides, ball pits, blowup rock climbing wall and Jack's favorite, tricycles. He stayed on these little tricycles the entire time! I kept trying to get him to play with other things but he kept going back to these. It was cute. The whole time he kept saying "Weeeeee..... Weeeeee...." April and Skyler liked the shark. His mouth would actually open and you could run and jump in while it was closing. I think the back of it was a slide. Of course, being 35 weeks pregnant, I wasn't jumping into the shark's mouth... but it looked like fun!! It was really great because it wasn't crowded at all and the kids could run amok. They were so hot and tired when we left... which made for an early bedtime... which makes me very happy :o) Jack was so tired when I took him out of the bathtub he just layed on my shoulder. Cute little guy played his heart out today.

I want my bubbles!

Bubbles are the coolest thing in the world at our house right now. In fact, they are so cool that the we have two different kinds of bubbles. We have "inside" bubbles and "outside" bubbles. Today Jack and I got into a major battle of wills. He insisted that we blow the "outside" bubbles inside. He kept bringing them to me and literally went into a full out tantrum when I wouldn't blow them. Of course, I could have easily given in... but, as our favorite mentor and playgroup leader at the EDIS clinic says... "We are the parents... We are the BOSS!" So, today I put that ideology into practice. I did everything the books say to do. He sat on the floor beside me and screamed and kicked. I sat blissfully blowing our "inside" bubbles. Jack would NOT give in. He didn't care that I was having fun... (not really?) After about 15 minutes he decided that he was no longer interested in the bubbles at all and moved his attention to coloring. THANK GOODNESS!! I was sure I was going to be there all day pretending to have fun blowing "inside" bubbles by myself.

Pool Fun

We ventured out to the pool today in Wittlich... one of our favorite places to go when the weather is beautiful! Jack had a blast splashing with Michael. The water was pretty cool but it didn't phase him one bit. He even went under a waterfall today all by himself! I wish I had the camera when he did it... he was so proud of himself.

Jack has inherited his father's love of condiments. He wants to "dip" everything now. But, even daddy had to draw the line when Jack started dipping his Nilla wafers in our garlic lovers hommus. YUK!!!

Jack's First Haircut

Jack was such a cutie! He climbed right up in the chair and was a champ for his first haircut. It may have helped that he was munching on Cheezits... he did keep trying to pull off the smock. When the barber was finishing up Jack kept saying "all done" over and over. He was ready to get down... He looks so much older now.... goodbye baby mullet!
The barber said, "So you want me to make him look like a boy again?" I didn't really think his hair was THAT long!

Jack thinks he is so much more mature now with his new haircut.

A Day at the Park with Daddy

Jack loves going down the slide! It is one of his favorite things to do at the park. He has recently figured out that you get down a lot quicker if you just jump face first and fly down on your belly. It scares me a little... but I love that he isn't scared of it!
Wow! Will you look at that hair?? Static and Jack's hair do not mix!
We gave Jack some spaghetti noodles to play with... you can't see them all over the floor. He thought it was pretty funny that they would stick to things... especially him (see hair).
How cute... he had just woken up and was chilly... he may have still been asleep. That is the only explanation for why he would sit still long enough to be wrapped up in a blanket and have his picture taken :o)
Jack and his rocket! They go everywhere together!
Jack has been copying a lot lately. His most recent was copying Jazz when she was eating from her food bowl. For some reason it cracks him up that she puts her whole head in the bowl. He has even started trying to eat his grapes out of his bowl like Jazz. It is pretty darn cute. He gets on all fours and puts his face in his little snack bowl. Sorry... don't have a picture of that one.

Father's Day

We had a great time hiking to Burg Eltz on Father's Day. Jack loved the castle and climbing all of the stairs. He is getting more independent every single day. We did have quite a downpour complete with hail as we had a snack under an umbrella. Jack didn't understand why he couldn't play in it... and we had another one of his famous "Jack Attacks" there for everyone to see :o) Other than that, it was a wonderful day. The rain passed and the sun came out. The castle and the views were truly beautiful.

Goodbye to Friends

This was a sad week for us as we said goodbye to great friends! Both the Johnson and Lopez families PCS'd this week to the DC area. We will miss them terribly.... here is Jack with Aidan and Benjamin... his big buddies!
How cute are they...
The 3 amigos and their mommies.

More pics...

Jack's fist big "boo boo" happened at the park. I was trying to do something to the camera and wasn't watching... I was sure he wouldn't try to climb through the window of the wooden club house at the park :o) I looked up and he was diving face first into the sand and dirt. Our little tough guy, he didn't even cry. He was just happy to be back in the dirt playing.
Jack LOVES brushing his teeth! He thinks he is so cool... hopefully this is something he will continue to love to do :o) It's not so much fun when we're "all done." We always have an epic tantrum when we close the bathroom door.

Michael and I took a weekend trip to London sans Jack. It was nice... but we missed him. We decided to take a relaxing paddle boat ride but unfortunately our boat wouldn't steer. Then the wind started blowing and we were paddling our little hearts out and not going anywhere. I had to stop because I could feel my stomach starting to tighten up.
Poor Michael, he didn't think it was as funny as me :o)

Pics of Jack

Maybe one day it will be sunny here in Germany and I can wear these outside!
Here is Jack playing with his big buddy Hamlet. He loves the grass and throwing the ball for the dogs.
This was taken on Mother's Day. Jack loves to pick out the weeds in the cracks of the steps.
There is nothing better than a cute little guy on a big slide. Yes, this is the park where his big boo boo took place.
"I can climb up all by myself!!"
