Happy First Birthday Luke!!
I'M ONE!
We celebrated Luke's first birthday with some family and friends here in Charleston. Luke loved his cake and then started crying when everyone laughed at him for smashing both of his hands in it. Jack loved his cake, too. Maybe a little too much. He sat at the table and tried to sneak spoonfuls of icing while all of the kids were coming inside. Luke had a great time and even suprised everyone by showcasing his newly developed walking skills!I can't believe an entire year has passed since this sweet little guy entered our world. I can't imagine our lives without him. We love you, Luke.... HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Ocean Isle Beach
We are hanging out in Ocean Isle Beach for a few days! We splashed in the pool today and Jack had so much fun jumping in and playing catch with a big beach ball. He couldn't understand why Holly (the dog) didn't want to join in the fun. I finally convinced him by telling him that Holly didn't have a "Superman belt"... which is what we call his little float belt. After dinner we took a bike ride... stopping in everyone's driveway to put a few rocks in our "trunk" (aka- the basket on the back of Jack's trike). Jack and Luke are having a blast with Martha and Aunt Jane and Grammy!

LUKE'S FIRST STEPS!
YAY! Luke took his first steps today! He took two and then fell... but he did it a few times! Of course, I don't have a picture to post because the camera battery was charging, and the SD card was in the computer!!! It would be nice if they could tell you they were about to hit a major milestone in their life so you could at least be prepared! Oh well. I am sure we'll catch him on camera soon enough! It was adorable, just so you know. He was rather proud of himself :o)

Fire Trucks and a "Lawn Mower"
We took a trip to the Fire Engine Museum here is Charleston. Jack was in heaven... has to be one of the best places to take a two year old obsessed with fire trucks! They had about twenty life-size fire trucks dating from about 1875. There was even a simulator that Jack LOVED! He got to make the sirens go off and turn on the lights and rescue someone! To top the morning off we ate lunch at CiCi's Pizza, sat at the window, and watched the planes fly right over us as they were landing at the Charleston Air Base and the Charleston International Airport! What a day!
Here is a badge from Wellsville, NY... where Michael is from. Thought this was neat since Wellsville is such a small town.

The only problem was you couldn't climb on the trucks... there was a cool slide and fire pole and a ladder to climb on... but, little Jack just couldn't help himself. He tried so hard to get through!

Blog Issues...
I am having problems uploading pictures to this blog. For whatever reason it's not allowing the pictures to go through. Thought I'd let you know what's going on in case anyone was wondering why it's been a WHOLE WEEK since I've posted anything. Hopefully I can figure it out soon.
